So, it was Adam’s birthday this past weekend and we ended up having a party at the house. Everything was going along so smoothly. That is, until one of his friends came inside to use the bathroom.
Now, normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but since everything for the party was outside, I decided that Kool-Aid would be totally cool (it was one of the few requests from Adam himself). Well, Adam’s buddy brought his red Solo cup full of black cherry sugar water and set it on an end table in the living room on his way to the john. Bailey, our overly rambunctious Shetland was excited to see someone come inside. She had been longly staring out the window all afternoon at the party in the backyard. She made a mad dash out of her bed in the living room across to greet Adam’s friend. In her excitement, her tail knocked the cup of Kool Aid off the end table onto our carpet. All this was pieced together from a 10-year-old, but I know how Bailey gets, so it’s totally plausible.
Regardless, as soon as I found out, I put in a call to one of the most professional carpet cleaners recommended to me. Jeff, the owner, personally came out and worked some serious magic on our carpets. I’m not sure what product or products he used, but you can’t even tell where the disaster happened. Definitely helps that the spill was fresh, but Jeff seriously knows his stuff.
I didn’t even feel like it was necessary to watch him do his thing. I was put at ease as soon as Jeff showed up. Sometimes I feel that I have to oversee service people in my home because you just get a weird vibe from them. Anyway, I would totally recommend Jeff to anyone looking for a great carpet cleaner.
Since I was able to let Jeff go to work (without my supervision), I was able to observe Adam and his friends rocket through the air in the bouncy house I rented for them. They had an absolute blast! It is so much fun to watch my son play. He just has such a zest for life. It’s almost infectious. Maybe if I lost a few pounds I could have joined them in the bounce house. But, football season is upon us and I honestly don’t see that happening anytime soon.
Check out this bouncy house that I rented.
It was too difficult to get a picture with everyone on it. There was way too much motion for my crappy digital camera. I may need to look into getting a SLR one of these years. I just get so busy with everything that it is hard for me to find time to teach this old dog some new tricks. Shoot, I’m looking over my site and I just realized that I haven’t even changed the header images. I totally need to figure out how to do that. So funny that the theme I picked actually has some pretty fancy cameras as the header images. Guess I’m going to have to figure out some coding or something.
Adam and his buds totally had a blast at the party. I’d post some pictures of them on this site, but I really don’t want to get any emails from angry parents who don’t want their children plastered on the internet for all eternity. I totally get how they could be mad if I did something like that without their permission though.
Well, that’s about it for now. Till next time, I really need to try and schedule some time to sit down and get this blog updated on a more regular basis. I’ll just have to add that to my list of all the things that I need to improve upon. Which, always seems to get longer and never shorter (why is that?).
